My Summer..

First of all, let me apologize for not blogging for so long, and for my posts being so boring, I intend to do a better job at keeping on top of it. I had a hectic Summer and and finally have some time to post now.
Here are some pictures I took of my Summer, hope you enjoy!

Sunday afternoon at a local pond.

Having a picnic at the park. :)

I had an awesome Summer, it was very busy with parades, swimming and grilling out. What did  y'all do this Summer?

Awkward Awesome (2)

So this is to take place for yesterday! I was a bit busy and forgot! ;p

Awkward:
  • Listening to your own voice on camera.
  • Playing the piano as loud as you can and then you look behind you and there's several people sitting there laughing to death!
  • Being in the shower and the phone rings. (To answer or not to answer?....)
  •  Jogging past people.
  • Going into the changing room at a store and then your sister leaves you, and then you tip toe out past everybody in line looking for her over the racks of clothing!

Awesome:

  • Coffee from the Coffee House! Mmmm
  • New clothes that fit perfect!
  • Home-made pizza!! :)
  • Friends!
  • Finding money in the pockets of  clothes you haven't worn since last Summer! (Especially if it's $30!)
  • Pick-nicks in the park with all my friends and family! And going swimming afterwards!

Anything awesome or awkward happen this week?!

On a side note, anybody else love swimming!?! :)

My music lessons and MY lesson.

Hey'a all!

So my older sister Amanda plays the piano very well. She's been playing for almost 6 years!
I started taking lessons I think 2 years after her. Before she started  taking lessons I had begged and pleaded to take them as well. But by the time it was my turn to start taking lessons, I completely lost any .........any........want? to take lessons. In fact, I dreaded it!  I wouldn't practice at all except the morning before lessons. I bawled and cried begging my mom not to make me take lessons. But she was firm with me and made me keep at it. Maybe my teacher knew this....maybe not, but it was an awful problem. And not one so much in the past.
And this all went on  for nearly 3 years. In which time, Amanda grew great at it, and we started with a new teacher because our old one moved away. When we went places Amanda would play and people would tell her how much of a great job she had done. And she did do a great job too! (That may have made it hard as well.)

Finally, after sooo long of me hating this I found a song that I knew. One old classic called "We've only just begun" Now, this song was only 2 pages long, but I absolutely adored it!! I played it alllll the time. And even became a bother playing it! I was ecstatic!
And then, one thing led to another and I started buying sheet music. ME! And found many songs and even hymns I knew and loved! And meanwhile Amanda was a big help! She found me old music of hers etc...
Then I found sheet music to the song "Edelweiss" and learned that too!!

And now, almost a year later, I loooove  playing the piano! It's one of my favorite past times! Now, I'm still not very good, and am only in level 4 but I have definitely learned my lesson.

Do you have any  fun/embarrassing stories like this from your childhood?

God Bless,

Madelyn Grace

Hey!
So I have seen several people do this  it looks like a lot of  fun, so let's give it a try! :)

Awkward:
  • When you show up somewhere really important and realize your outfits filthy dirty.
  • When you wake up early in the morning to a brother and his best friend standing in your room looking for something. Eek!
  • The awkward silences when you meet someone for the first time. (You can only ask so many questions about their grade, age and family!)
  • Having to run an errand so early in the morning you haven't changed out of your pajama's, and you have to bike across town....:(
  • Dancing with someone you don't know.
  •  When the car dies and you can't find jumper cables, and your dad's friend is in the car....Bad deal.
  • Carrying  your niece or nephew (or anybody for that matter) and somebody asks if he/she's yours! :)

Awesome:
  • Friends praying for you.
  • Having your little brother fall asleep on your lap.
  • laying on the trampoline reading a theology book!
  • Getting up early and going for a walk by yourself.
  • Having long talks with good friends.
  • Listening to a song that takes you back a long time!

What awkward or awesome things have happened to you this week?
Have a great Monday!

Just another day...

I was once asked "If  you were looking back on this day many years from now, What 5 things would come to your mind?" So I decided to post those 5 things about today.

1. It's was my best friends birthday!
2. It was cold and windy, you know, the kind of wind that blows right though  you... : )
3. We worked in the garden and cleared a bunch of it off!
4. I had gotten like 3 days worth of school done.
5. I was thankful to God for letting my live to see yet another day, and to see my best friends 15th birthday! : P

Take this test yourself, what 5 things would come to your mind when thinking about today, many years from now?

Just something to brighten your day!

"It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed." (Deuteronomy 31:8)

After hearing a sermon last week about how "you are to minster to others, not others to you" I realized that even when I am full of strength and faith, others may not be...so I posted this verse for all of you, not just the weak,  but all of us who are undoubtedly struggling with one thing or the other...so I hope this helps! Here are a few more verses to remember  before the start of another week! :)
"This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24
"You have given me greater joy than those who have abundant harvests of grain and new wine." Psalm 4:7
