Life's best moments.

There will always be things that make me think of home. No matter where I am, certain  smells, ideas and colors will make me think of my childhood. For instance, thinking about swimming will make me remember heading out to the gravel pit with my older siblings to go swimming. And then rushing back because somebody forgot there was a softball game tonight. Even though mom had reminded us a dozen times before leaving. :)
Thinking of scooping snow will remind me of the time a few years back on Christmas day we got 7-8 inches of snow.  And the whole family went out and scooped several little old lady's out so they could get to church, for their special Christmas services.
If I were to think of Fall, I would remember the time a neighbor called us to come pick apple's off their tree to make applesauce with, and could we please pick up the ones that had fallen too, and dump them. After getting there we saw 3 apples on the 2 tree's combined. And probably 600 on the ground....Being the charitable woman my mom is, she still made us pick up the mushy, gross apple's.
Those memories have all taught me life lessons. And here they are;
1.Never forget a softball game.
2.Never volunteer to go scoop that little old lady out by yourself.
3.Never make applesauce.

Maybe these weren't the life lessons I was supposed to get from these stories...... :)

Just the same, I still smile when I think about the time we were at a friends house for Sunday dinner. I did not know the family, the friendship was that of a long time ago. It was one of those "This is our youngest now." type of deals. Anyway, I was climbing their big oak tree, in a dress. Not sure what for. But this was long before I'd started wearing shorts underneath. Anywhoo, I slipped and fell. I was probably 10 feet high, but my dress got caught. The bottom of it. Yeeeeaaahhh, so that wasn't the best 2 minutes of my life. With about 20 other kids older than me outside playing volleyball, I started tugging as fast as I could, but couldn't get myself down. Then my kind older sister saw me and ran to my rescue. Being ten years older, she probably knew it wasn't such a grand idea to climb a tree just then....Still, that didn't keep me from bawling my eyes out the whole 2 hour drive home. :)
Well, that story will make me think of the horrid awkwardness of being a 10 year old girl. And so I will probably pity the next little girl I see. :p

Now that you have a download on my most embarrassing and awesome times ever, you can laugh at or with me. Whichever suits you! :)

Piano lessons again!

Hi guys! So yesterday was my first piano lesson since April. I was pretty crazy excited! Not because I was a good player who missed lessons, no. Not at all. In all truth, you could probably set a cat on the piano and make it walk and it would STILL sound better then me. =) No, I was excited because piano lessons have always been a big deal for me. At first I didn't like playing very much. My older sister was a very good player, and I didn't care for quiet, delicate things. (At the age I started I still preferred to play in the mud and cracking walnuts open!)
But my mom was dedicated to making me over-come that. And so....finally,  I did. :)
Now playing the piano is one of my favorite things to do!!

This looks very much like my sister. ;)

Any-who-sie-what's-it, I'm super excited about lessons again! Although, we will only have 4 before Christmas break. But who cares? Do you play any instruments?

p.s. I just realized that one of my "cover pictures" so to speak is a picture of horses. And since I'm not a "horse" person, I would like to clarify that. You see, my brother took the picture. And I took the two on the side. I thought the picture was very pretty, and decided to use that! :) Not that I don't like horses, but I will leave that department to my sweet little sister. :)

Love,
Madelyn
